Individual Counselling

We often hold misconceptions about who might seek therapy, imagining a certain type of person. However, the truth is that any of us can encounter challenges that are hard to navigate.

Counselling can be a transformative experience for anyone seeking to improve their mental and emotional wellbeing. It provides a space where you are able to explore your thoughts and feelings with someone who is able to meet you with both care and understanding. Counselling can help you to develop a greater understanding of yourself, as well as your relationships and life experiences. This process can lead to an enriched self-awareness and personal growth.

The challenges we face might stem from our own vulnerabilities, a painful or confusing relationship, or the illness or loss of a loved one. Anger or depression may grip us, or we might find ourselves overwhelmed by anxiety and stress. Creating space to explore what’s been affecting your mood, your relationships and your day-to-day life can be hugely beneficial in helping you feel more in tune with yourself and more connected to the people who matter to you.

If you are considering counselling, I’d be glad to hear from you. You’re welcome to get in touch to book a session, or just to have a free 10-15 minute phone call to talk through any questions or concerns you may have.

FAQ’s

  • I charge £60 for 1 hour sessions.

  • If you decide you’d like to start counselling, we’ll arrange an initial session together. This is a chance for you to get a sense of how I work and see if it feels like a good fit. There’s no obligation to continue afterwards, it’s simply a space to talk through what’s brought you here and what you’d like from therapy.

  • Everyone’s journey in therapy is different. Our sessions would last an hour and we would schedule sessions on a weekly or biweekly basis (depending on individual requirements).

Counselling can sometimes just be short term as sometimes just talking things through helps us on our way. For deeper exploration, long term counselling creates a safe place to explore past hurts that are long numbed down, shelved and even forgotten.

  • Yes, absolutely. You’re welcome to combine both depending on what works best for your schedule and comfort level. Some prefer in-person sessions most weeks, with the flexibility of online sessions when needed, we can discuss what works best for you.

  • That’s completely okay, you don’t need to have the right words or a clear goal before coming to counselling. Our sessions can help you make sense of how you’re feeling and explore what’s been difficult at your own pace. Often, just having a space to talk things through can be the first step toward understanding yourself more fully.

  • Our first session can focus on creating an understanding as to what you would like to gain from counselling, and how we can work together to create a space that feels right for you. I’ll invite you to share what’s brought you here, but there’s no pressure to open up more than you feel comfortable with.

This session is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions and get a feel for whether my approach aligns with what you’re looking for. Most importantly, it’s about ensuring you feel heard, understood and at ease in our initial session together.

Get in touch, I’d be glad to hear from you.
